E-VISION by ActivMR: Instant Outfit Swaps in Real-Time Motion Capture for Retail, Runways & Exhibits

Step in front of a mirror and watch your jacket change colour, texture and logo before your eyes—no joystick, no touch-screen, no changing room. E-VISION makes that possible with two everyday cameras and a laptop-sized edge box that maps new garments onto your reflection in typically under 40 ms. The result is a 26 fps video feed where fabric sways, creases and catches light as if you were really wearing it, giving shoppers, models and visitors an immediate “try-before-buy” rush that static posters or VR headsets cannot match.

How it works

The system locks onto shoulder, hip and elbow contours rather than tracking every finger or vertebra. This silhouette-first approach keeps hardware minimal, with two USB-C cameras and an edge unit drawing approx. 45 W, so boutiques can place it on a cosmetics counter, while exhibition teams can slide it behind a half-silvered mirror. When you rotate, the algorithm reprojects the 3-D garment using pre-computed cloth physics, so hems lift and logos stay readable from every angle. A single staff member can update the line for the new season by dropping PNG textures into a folder, without writing code or adjusting calibration rigs.

Where it feels at home

l Retail: keep the fitting experience alive after hours by letting customers compare three coats in thirty seconds, then generate a QR code so they can share the clip and a purchase link with friends.

l Runway: during fashion week, project the same look onto five differently sized models in real time, eliminating costly sample tailoring for press previews.

l Exhibits: in heritage museums, visitors “wear” period costumes for souvenir photos without touching fragile fabrics, keeping conservation teams happy.
